An Association of Remanufacturing Industry Leaders
Our network of members promotes the economic, environmental, and product performance benefits of remanufacturing and similar forms of sustainable manufacturing. With roots in the transportation sector, MERA represents the interests of the broader remanufacturing community across multiple industry sectors. MERA is also the home of Manufactured Again Certification, where manufacturing and sustainable manufacturing are held to the same international quality standards.

New Symbol for Sustainable Manufacturing
“Reduce. Reuse. Recycle.” has been part of the public lexicon for many years, yet it does not capture viable alternative solutions to today’s environmental challenges. In response, MERA – The Association for Sustainable Manufacturing introduced the new symbol for sustainable manufacturing. It is the recycling symbol with one extra arrow. As society continues to drive toward a circular economy, the remanufacturing of existing products should occur before traditional recycling.
Reduce. Reuse. Reman. Recycle.

Manufactured Again Certification
Manufactued Again Certification recognizes remanufacturing, MRO, and refurbishing facilities as manufacturing facilities and holds them to the same international quality standards, e.g., ISO 9001 and IATF 16949. The program also promotes environmental stewardship and social responsibility.
When companies display the Manufactured Again Certification Mark on their product packaging, they provide their customers with “peace of mind” and a more informed buying experience.
